Research Techniques

I was tasked to create surveys about Pokemon GO with a group.
Exercise Number 1 - Paper Questionnaires
Complete Quantitative and Qualitative surveys
We struggled to find people to give the surveys to, so we had the other groups fill them in for us.
The Quantitative questions were closed multiple choice questions dealing with the who, what, where and when.
The Qualitative questions were open questions asking opinions and thoughts, dealing with the why.

Exercise Number 2 - Online Questionnaires
(These are essentially the same as the paper questions but transferred online)

Results are currently being collected
Day 2: still no responses
Day 3+: no response

Pros: Wider audience, less awkwardness caused by face to face
Cons: Potential lies, non-serious answers, lack of responses

Exercise Number 3 – Focus Groups
Focus group footage
I don't like being on camera or in group discussions so I found it difficult to contribute to the discussion.

Pros: multiple opinions being compared, deep conversation once the ball gets rolling
Cons: Initial Awkwardness of face to face, hard to get conversation started if all members awkward/shy
